Working from Home - Self Employment Step by Step
I mentioned in the previous articles that many people don’t know their passion, and that fear of failure is generally the major hindrance to taking that first step to achieving their dream of self employment.

We all know that these two aspects alone are not easy to achieve, but the great news is that you don’t need to reach a place of perfect self knowledge before you begin your journey. In fact, by reading these articles, you may have already embarked on the journey. It’s very likely that your emotions and intellect have been toying with ideas, thinking about passions and fears.

It is also very likely that if you have been thinking about your passions and your fear of failure, that you’ve been experiencing conflicting thoughts and emotions - the desire to reach the dream, the fear of making that first step, and then the resultant internal battle of “yes, I can” and “no, I can’t”, and “I would, if only ....”

What you need to do is stop that internal battle. Change your mantra to “yes, I can”” and yes, I am!”  You have to remember that even though there might be all sorts of obstacles that you need to overcome in order to become self employed, the very first obstacle is getting over yourself!  That means, getting over your negative thoughts, and working with your fear of failure.

The next thing that many people do, is say things to themselves like “I’m going to start on Monday” or “I am going to start next month “ or “I am going to check my budget first.” These are all tactics that the fear of failure uses in order to delay the commitment. You don’t have to do anything, or reach any place, or have any amount of money in order to make a commitment. There is absolutely nothing, except your own negative thoughts stopping you from making that commitment.

You’re not making a commitment just yet to exactly how you’re going to do things, or what you’re going to do next. You’re making the commitment to achieve your dream of self employment. You’re making a commitment to a fulfilled you.

Making that commitment to yourself is the all important first step, and more great news is that it’s the best thing you can ever do for yourself.

Some words of wisdom to remember:

“It’s never too late to be what you might have been.” – George Herbert

"Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The very best thing you can do for the whole world is to make the most of yourself.” – Wallace Wattle
